Aviva Rossi has a decade of experience teaching graduate and undergraduate students. Her courses bring together natural history, ecological theory, environmental policy and politics, and applied skills. She has taught at the University of California, Davis, the University of San Francisco, and College of Marin.
In addition to her work in education, she has two decades of experience working with private industry, non-profits, and government organizations. She brings this experience from beyond academia into her course design, to better prepare students for a wide variety of careers within natural resources. |

Field Survey SkillsBasic field survey skills are critical for todays natural resource graduates to be successful in their first jobs. Aviva's courses use hands on approaches to teach applied current field skills, from how to take good notes, incorporating GPS, use of standard vegetation assessment and wildlife survey methods.

Field Survey ManagementDesigned for managers overseeing natural resource field teams, or field biologists looking to take on more leadership, these courses teach students how successfully plan for and manage field based projects.

Master's Project CourseThis is a semester long course for students in the final semester of their graduate studies. It is a combination of professor guidance, peer review, and writing accountability group.

Career DevelopmentThis course leads students through the process of discovering and refining their career goals, based on their personal values and lifestyle goals. By the end of this course students will also understand the skills they are strong in, identity which skills they want to develop, and students have concrete networking and interview tools.
